Most Dominant MN Boys Track and Field Athletes of All-Time

Rob Finnerty (1600m)

Minnesota has a great history of great 1600m/mile runners in Ben Blankenship, Garry Bjorklund, Garret Heath, Joe Klecker, and Eli Krahn. But the best of Minnesota at the high school level all-time has been Burnsvilles Rob Finnerty. Finerty owns 4 of the top 15 times of all-time in Minnesota and has the best time of all-time with his mark of 4:06.49. If we include Finnerty's mile time of 4:01.09 from the 2007 Midwest Distance Gala, that converts to a 3:59.50 1600m time.

Note: our rankings don't take note of older times such as Garry Bjorklund's 4:03.5 and converted mile times.
