Noah Breker Breaks The Minnesota State 3,200m Record

The Minnesota State Outdoor Championships have barely started, but we already have state history on our hands in a Class AAA boys 3,200m race that saw two boys break the state meet record, three boys go under the 9-minute barrier and five boys under 9:10.

To start, Robbinsdale Armstrong senior Noah Breker repeated as the Class AAA state champion in the 3200m, as he clocked a new meet record time of 8:51.44.

He beat the old record of 8:57.07 set by Obsa Ali in 2013. Breker also ran the second-fastest unconverted 3,200m time in state history, only behind Joe Klecker.

Looking at the list above, alongside Breker, Aidan Jones and Sam Scott also both broke the 9-minute barrier once again and joined Breker in the top five all-time unconverted 3200m times in Minnesota.

This is only the second time in state history that three boys have gone under 9-minutes for the 3200m in the same race, joining the 2013 MSHSL State Track and Field Championships. In that race, Obsa Ali set the state meet record of 8:57.07 and both Eli Krahn (8:58.67) and Joey Duerr (8:59.03) joined him under that 9-minute barrier.
