Brian Schloeder Repeats as State Champion
After winning last year's Class AA title, Schloeder again won the Class AA pole vault title with a height of 15' 6" which is tied for the 5th-best mark in state meet history. Schloeder won out by a foot over Becker sophomore Owen Angell. Last year, Schloeder won with a height of 14' 3".

Schmitz Wins First Track Title
A regular at the MSHSL State Track and Field Championships since 2019, Hutchinson junior Isabella Schmitz finally won her first track state title with a win in the 3200m with a time of 10:43.68. Schmitz had previously qualified and ran at the state meet six times without coming away with a win.

Gerres Demolishes 3200m record
All the Class AA records might be new from last year, but Belle Plaine senior Emmett Gerres demolished the 3200m Class AA record set by Shef West Last year with a time of 9:15.58. Gerres ran a time of 9:03.72 which is the #14 3200m time in state history. This is Gerres second state title of his senior season after winning the Class AA cross country title last fall.

Rypkema Wins 6th State Title
After winning the 3200m yesterday, Nevis senior Jade Rypkema added one last state title to her mantle with a win in the 1600m today is dominant fashion. Rypkema ran a time of 4:54.27 to win by 11 seconds. She repeated as the Class A 1600m and 3200m champion after winning both titles last year.

8th Grader Krutz Wins State 200m Title
Taylor Kurtz an 8th-grader at Dover-Eyota High School ran her first full track and field season at the high school level and came away with her first state title in what could be a special start to her career. Kurtz won the 200m Class A title with a time of 25.47 to win by 0.05 seconds over Anika Reiland.
Kurtz is the first Minnesota 8th-grade girl to win a 200m state title since Jia Lewis in 2014 and the fifth overall. With her time of 25.47, she ranks 10th all-time for a Minnesota 8th-grade girl in the 200m at the state meet. She is the first Minnesota 8th-grade girl to win a state title since Lauren Ping in 2019.

Tyler Gunnarson Adds to His Impressive Resume
Tyler Gunnarson after already breaking three state records this season, added to his accomplishments with four state titles in the 100m, 200m, 800m, and discus wheelchair events. Gunnarson now has won five state titles in his career and owns four state records in the wheelchair events.

Gracie Morris Wins Pole Vault Title as a Freshman
Gracie Morris a freshman at Perham High School, after coming off a breakthrough cross country season where she became one of the best Class A girls runners, won her first state title today in...you guessed it, the pole vault! Morris won the Class A girls pole vault title with a height of 12' 0" beating our runner-up Cecily Fager on attempts at 12' 0" with Morris needing one attempt to Fager's two attempts. Both girls bowed out at 12' 3".
In winning the pole vault state title as a freshman, Morris joined an exclusive group of now seven girls that have accomplished that feat. Morris is the first freshman girl since Andrianna Jacobs to win a state pole vault title.

Nelson, Sylak and Kampsen All Win Two Titles
Tate Nelson, RJ Sylak, and Brandon Kampsen all won their first state track and field titles (Kampsen has won one XC title) in impressive fashion with all three boys winning two individual titles each. Tate Nelson won the Class A boys 100m and long jump titles, Sylak won the 200m and 400m titles, and Kampsen won the 800m and 1600m titles.
