Casey and Stachewicz - Lakeville North Duo Head to Wisconsin

---

The Lakeville North distance duo of Andrew Casey and Bryce Stachewicz will continue to partner together when both head to the University of Wisconsin this fall.

Take one look at the Lakeville North track and field record book and you can see why both runners were recruited by Wisconsin. Casey and Stachewicz collectively own five school records in the 400m, 800m, 1600m, 4x400m, and the 4x800m.

They had already the 800m, 1600m, and 4x400m school records heading into this 2023 outdoor season, and then they went crazy breaking more records. This season, Andrew Casey broke the 400m and 800m school record, Bryce Stachewicz broke Casey's 1600m school record, and they were both a part of the state record setting 4x800m team.

Apart from the Lakeville North school records, the boys 4x800m team as mentioned broke the state record in the event that had been broken by the Mounds View boys last year. Darby Griffin, Ethan Kimmel, Bryce Stachewicz and Andrew Casey ran a time of 7:36.46 to break the record by 3.45 seconds.

To finish off their senior seasons, Casey won the 800m and Stachewicz won the 1600m state titles for Class AAA and their 4x400m team won the Class AAA title for the second year in a row.

The University of Wisconsin will clearly be getting an infusion of distance talent in Casey and Stachewicz. Caseys 800m PR of 1:51.52 ranks #13 in Minnesota state history and Stachewicz's 1600m PR of 4:08.06 ranks #9 in state history.

Both of these runners have been a part of some historic relay teams also with the aforementioned state record relay team in the 4x800m. Both runners were also a part of the 4x400m relay team last year that ran a time of 3:17.58 which is the #5 time in state history.

With both runners staying together at Wisconsin, we can't wait to see if they can continue to make magic together like they have at Lakeville.
