Harlow Tong Shines at USATF MN All-Comers #6 Meet

The USATF Minnesota All-Comers Meet #6 took place over the weekend at Bethel University where some of the top track and field talent in Minnesota congregated to compete. 

One of the top competitors at the meet was St. Paul Centrals Harlow Tong who took home three wins, a new state best time and two big wins over one of his main competitors. 

Tong took home titles in the 60m, 200m, and 400m at the meet, continuing his stellar indoor season. In the 60m, Tong ran a time of 6.90 setting a new PR and continuing his streak of sub-7-seconds 60m races this season. This was also a new Minnesota #1 time of the season, beating his old time of 6.92.

In the 200m, Tong ran a time of 22.28 to narrowly beat Dwyne Smith Jr. who ran a time of 22.36. This continues a trend this indoor season of the battle of Tong versus Smith. His time of 22.28 is the second fastest time in the state this year, only behind his own 22.05 from January.

Finally, in the 400m, Tong beat Dwyne Smith Jr. again to the tune of a time of 48.84, a small PR of 0.02 seconds for Tong. This is the #2 time in Minnesota this season.

His time of 48.84 ranks him 45th nationally this indoor season with Smith Jr.'s time of 48.73 ranks him tied for 39th. Both times are the top two indoors times in Minnesota state history.
