Top 13 Heartland Girls With National Aspirations

Tierney Wolfgram, Math & Science Academy (MN)

In 2017, Tierney Wolfgram stormed to the NXR Heartland title, winning by seven seconds, an extremely impressive margin given the quality of the field. This season, Wolfgram has appeared to be in significantly better shape, running faster at every meet than she did a season ago. Her stunning 2:40 marathon debut made waves across the nation, though some questioned the impact it would have on her season. Those questions were answered at her sections race, when she ran 17:29 just over two weeks removed from her Olympic Trials qualifying effort. And as shown at Griak and the St. Olaf Showcase, for much of the year, Wolfgram has appeared like the clear cut second best runner in Minnesota. At State, Wolfgram exited the race after a fall on an early downhill. Assuming she's healthy and ready to go, Wolfgram will contend for the win.
