Top Nine Girls Teams Heading To NXR Heartland

Muskego (WI)

Sliding back onto the MileSplit50 at #20 after their State meet, the Muskego girls out of Wisconsin are the best non-Minnesota team in the field. But while they are ranked higher than both Edina and STMA by the latest updates, the results of the Minnesota State Meet probably indicate that Muskego is a bit behind them (and current virtual meet projections put them behind all three). Throwing down an 18:51 average at their State meet, though, the team is still in a position to be fierce competitors. The Muskego girls dominated Wisconsin's Division 1 meet, crushing runners-up from Sun Prairie 48 to 103. For comparison, the Sun Prairie girls took sixth at the Roy Griak Invitational at the end of September, beating Edina and coming in just behind STMA and Wayzata. In addition, Muskego frontrunner Kate Sperka placed second in the Division 1 meet. Her speed will be hugely beneficial in a large, fast race like NXR.
