Top Nine Girls Teams Heading To NXR Heartland

Farmington (MN)

The Farmington Tigers finished fourth at the MSHSL State meet in Class AA, behind STMA, Wayzata, and Edina, but the ridiculously young team was not that far off of Edina. The thing that make them a dangerous team are their incomparable 1-2 punch of Lauren Peterson and Anna Fenske. No other team can boast the lowstick power of NXN individual qualifiers. Their third runner has yet to demonstrate that she can go to up against the third runners from the best Heartland teams, but it would be remiss not to mention that third runner happens to be seventh grader (and Anna's sister) Mariah Fenske, who's posted a time 18:30 this season. In fact, this is a team full of sister duos, as Maleah and Marianah Scott have done a huge amount for Farmington as fifth runners, and they are brought up in the back by another seventh grader in Lily Peterson, sister of Lauren. With so much talent packed into one squad and a huge advantage with two runners almost certain to post up single digit scores, Farmington will be a squad to watch.
