Top Nine Girls Teams Heading To NXR Heartland

The fifth-place team from the MSHSL may be a relative long shot to snag a qualifying bid, but they will be worth watching as they close out their 2018 season for the same reason STMA was worth watching in 2017. Without a senior in their top five and with four runners who can go up against any team's, they are one or two breakout seasons away from NXN berth contention. Sophomore Analee Weaver and eighth-grader Avery Braunshausen will be a formidable duo for years to come, and on a fast course like NXR have the potential to drop blazing times. Eighth graders Morgan Peterman and Brooke Elfert likewise have a bright future ahead. If Stillwater can chip away at that gap between them and the top teams to end their season on a great note, it will undoubtedly be a promising sign for the coming years.
