Top Nine Girls Teams Heading To NXR Heartland

Lincoln East (NE)

Out of Nebraska, Class A State Champions Lincoln East will be looking to shake things up among the Heartland competition. Placing 11th at Regionals last year, the Spartans will be back and strong again, thanks largely to Muma sisters Jenna, Maddie, and Kylie, all of whom are part of the top seven squad. Though they are a bit of a wild card, not having run against any nationally ranked competition this season, Lincoln East has the potential to be right with breadbasket rival and Kansas State Championship squad Mill Valley. Jenna Muma was the runner up in the Class A State race and has dropped an 18:31 this season. However, her results this year have indicated that she is even stronger than last year, which saw her run 18:24 at Regionals. If all of the Spartan girls can drop that kind of time, Lincoln East will be very impressive.
