Bauman-Rovn Headlines a Busy Thursday Meet Line-up

Location: The Oaks Golf Course, Hayfield

Weather: 77°, sunny,

BOYS

Virtual Meet Projections: Plainview-Elgin-Millville (42), Pine Island (52), Chatfield (74)

Individuals to watch: Samson Hagen (Plainview-Elgin-Millville, 16:47.4), Tanner Horton (Pine Island, 16:55.5), Baylor Hagen (Plainview-Elgin-Millville, 17:31.7)

The Skinny: The team race looks to be between the Plainview-Elgin-Millville and Pine Island and which team will get five through first. It appears that P-E-M will have five inside the top 20 and that could be the difference unless Pine Island can improve in their fourth and fifth runners where the extra points are currently coming. P-E-M senior Samson Hagen has the fastest PR among returners and it could come down to him and Pine Island junior Tanner Horton for the win as both have gone under 17 minutes but the third place runner has yet to break 17:30.

GIRLS

Virtual Meet Projections: Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (42), Plainview-Elgin-Millville (57), Chatfield (75)

Individuals to watch: Natasha Sortland (Zumbrota-Mazappe/Kasson-Mantorville, 18:30.5), Madilyn Simon (Plainview-Elgin-Millville, 19:50.5), Lauran Dimler (Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, 20:06.6)

The Skinny: Waterville-Elysian-Morristown is not likely to have anyone run with individual favorite, Zumbrota-Mazeppa/Kasson-Mantorville freshman Natasha Sortland, but they should still control the team scoring with potential for all seven scorers inside the top 15. Sortland has already broke 19 minutes this season in a second place finish at St Olaf last week and only one other individual in the field has a PR under 20 minutes so it seems she will have to go solo if she's going to challenge her PR of 18:30.5.
