Samantha Barrett Will Break the State Triple Jump Record
The defending state champion in the triple jump, Barrett has set the bar even higher this season. She has a whopping four jump over 39 feet this season, and two jumps over 40 feet. Her mark of 40' 7" from the State True Team meet is the third-best mark all-time for a Minnesota girl.
All-Time Triple Jump Marks
RANK | MARK | WIND | ATHLETE/TEAM | GRADE | MEET DATE PLACE |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 41-2.25 | East Ridge High School | 2018 | ||
2 | 41-1.75 | Wayzata High School | 2008 | ||
3 | 40-7 | Prior Lake High School | 2021 | ||
4 | 40-6 | 1.90 | Minnetonka High School | 2014 | |
5 | 40-3 | Maple Lake High School | 2021 |
We predict that as a senior, she will have one more gigantic leap in her to improve her PR by at least 7.5 inches to overtake Allyson Weiss as the state record holder.
