Ava Cinnamo has already been a conference champion, section champion, state champion, and so much more; but now she can call herself a STATE RECORD HOLDER!!!
Cinnamo made history at the Section 3AAA True Team Meet where she jumped 41' 6" in the triple jump to break the old state record held by current Stanford senior and East Ridge graduate, Allyson Weiss. Weiss had previously set the state record at the 2018 Suburban East Conference Championships where she jumped 41' 2.25".
Cinnamo this spring had been on course to make a go at the record with jumps of 40' 0.5" and 39' 8.5" this spring, far eclipsing her previous best of 38' 11.75" from 2021. Cinnamo now stands above any of her peers for the triple jump in Minnesota state history.
Place | Athlete | School | Mark (Year) |
1st | Rosemount | 41' 6" (2022)
2nd | East Ridge | 41' 2.25" (2018)
3rd | Wayzata | 41' 1.75" (2008)
4th | Maple Lake | 40' 10.5" (2021)
5th | Prior Lake | 40' 7" (2021) |
Cinnamo is also in pursuit of the State Records in the 100m Hurdles where she holds a hand-timed PR of 13.98, just off the state record, and in the 300m hurdles where she holds a PR of 44.00, which is a top 30 mark all-time in Minnesota.
