As the 2018 cross country season approaches, we begin more and more to think about the events of last year in the "past tense," and our curiosity heightens. Obviously some of the biggest names in the state are very visible in track (Emily Covert, the Pings, and Max Manley come to mind), but others don't gather as much attention compared to XC. How did they do? What did they run? Which athletes really started stepping things up?
Hopefully this little piece can offer some insight into those questions. What we have here is the full and complete list of every single returning XC runner in the state (who ran in at least one 5k in 2017) and their season best times from our database in the 3200m, 1600m, 800m, and 400m (if, indeed, they ran those events).
