A year ago, not many would have believed White Bear Lake would be a legitimate contender for a top finish at NXR Heartland. But with a spread of 13 seconds and two more sub-16:35 runners, even if somone has an off day, the rest should be able to pick up the slack.
White Bear took second to Stillwater at its Conference Championships but followed that up with an upset over Stillwater at the section meet. Making huge strides this season and taking fourth at the state meet, its highest finish since 1997, look for orange jerseys toward the front of the race.
