Bauman/Rovn Invitational

BOYS RECAP: Chanhassen senior Nick Scheller's season 5k debut will be considered a success as he won the Bauman/Rovn title and posted a 15:42.7, the second fastest result in the state so far this season. Yet the bigger story may be Eden Prairie winning without Jake Derouin and their 2-3-4 finish by senior Mohamed Mohamud, junior Isaac Hartman and senior Zachary Spears who crossed the finish line around 16:05. Prior Lake junior Gabe Smit also ran a quality race to take fifth individually, passing Eastview senior AJ Green in the final 10 meters. Eden Prairie now has the state's best team average after posting a 16:30 mark with a 1:08 split. Eastview had five in the top 30 and averaged a solid 16:51 with just a 53 second split.

BOYS VARSITY 5K CHAMP- NICK SCHELLER, CHANHASSEN


GIRLS RECAP: No. 3 coaches ranked Saint Michael Albertville did not disappoint on Thursday, winning the meet led by star sophomores Ali Weimer and Katie Sigerud, running 18:44 and 18:57 respectively. The duo ran a controlled race and pulled away from the field after 2k helping the team to a 19:37 average in its win with six athletes in the top 25 overall. Second place Minnetonka may have posted one of the tightest splits of the week averaging 19:59 over just a 29 second spread. Hopkins junior Laci Provenzano was third in 19:14.6 with Marshall senior Kate Bucher out leaning Lakeville South freshman Avery Heinz for fourth in 19:22.3 and 19:22.5. Second place Minnetonka may have posted one of the tightest splits of the week averaging 19:59 over just a 29 second spread.

Detroit Lakes CC Invitational

BOYS RECAP: Alexandria took home the team title led by individual winner, junior Jacob Kleven's 18:01.7. The Cardinals tucked all five scorers inside the top 15 and stacked their sixth man one spot back in 16th. Second place Frazee was led by a pair inside the top ten including second place senior Grady Larsen in 18:14.2 less than two seconds ahead of third place David Johnson of Pelican Rapids.

GIRLS RECAP: Alexandria dominated the field, missing a perfect score as Shanley (N.D.) sophomore Anna Bernhardt took the individual win in 20:07.6 just ahead of the leader of a string of seven Cardinals. That pack was led by Caitlin Bright in 20:36.2. Alexandria had their five in over a 28 second spread in a 20:48 average to win by a wide margin over second place Shanley.

Fridley Peach Run

BOYS RECAP: Holy Family put in a great team race to take the title with their top four running 2-3-4-5 in the 3200m varsity race. Spring Lake Park junior Owen Anderson took the individual win in 10:41.4 over second place finisher Holy Family junior Patrick Ricke who crossed in 10:54.0. Holy Family posted a solid 11:05 team average across a 49 second split.

SCORES: Holy Family (34), Saint Anthony Village (52), Spring Lake Park (63), Park Center (98)

GIRLS RECAP: Spring Lake Park took a narrow win over Saint Anthony Village in the girls 3200m race. Led by sophomore Kaitlyn Finnegan's individual win in  12:22.4, St Anthony Village put four in the top six to take the title. Fridley sophomore Anna Couwenhoven was second in 12:31.4. Team runner-up St Anthony was led by freshman Samantha Solboe who was 4th.

GNK Titan Invitational

FULL MEET RESULTS

BOYS RECAP: Led by junior Geno Uhrbom's all classes, state best 15:41.9 victory, Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin cruised to the team win. GNK put all five inside the top 20 and had three in front of second place Brainerd's top athlete. State Coaches no. 5 ranked Virginia freshman Cameron Stocke was second in 16:13.7. GNK senior Greg Peterson was third in 17:06 followed by Iron Mountain-Buhl sophomore Aaron Nelson and fifth place finisher Proctor sophomore Joshua Knight.

GIRLS RECAP: Hibbing took the team victory over second place Brainerd on Thursday. Mesabi East senior Ava Hill was the individual winner in 18:57.4, over a 45 second improvement over her season debut win at Virginia last week. Duluth Marshall School sophomore Keegan Mcauliffe was second followed by Brainerd eighth grader Bridget Collins, Iron Mountain-Buhl eighth grader Liz Nelson and Virginia junior Alex Wercinski going 3-4-5. Hibbing averaged a 21:48 across a 55 second split putting six inside the top 21.

Hastings Minnaert Invitational

BOYS RECAP: Eagan ran a strong team race going 1-3-4-7 to earn the win over second place East Ridge. Eagan senior Paul Schmitter won the race at the line over East Ridge junior John Faller, 16:29.8-16:30.02. Eagan juniors Andre Huston and Michael Marshall were joined by East Ridge sophomore Sean McNiesh in going under 17 minutes in 3rd, 4th and 5th overall.

GIRLS RECAP: East Ridge sophomore Halle Mestery led her team to a team win with her individual victory in 18:48.4. Senior Grace Johnson of Red Wing was second in 19:37.1 East Ridge put their top five in the top ten to pull away from Red Wing who could not match the third through fifth runners of the team winner. East Ridge sophomore Mary Kenney and teammate senior Gwyneth Gerlach were joined by Red Wing freshman Addie Fjetland in the top five individually.

Hayfield Invitational

BOYS RECAP: Plainview-Elgin-Millville senior Samson Hagen took home the individual victory in 17:38.1 but it was not enough to get his team in front of Pine Island who took the team win by just two points. P-E-M had a head to head advantage at spots 1-4 but Pine Island recovered all lost points in the final scoring runner and put both displacers in the top 25. Pine Island was led by junior Tanner Horton in second place overall.

GIRLS RECAP: Top ranked Zumbrota-Mazeppa/Kasson-Mantorville freshman Natasha Sortland ran away from the field to win by over 90 seconds in 18:45.4. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown took the team victory with their top five inside the top 12. Freshman Addison Peed was the top finisher for the team winner in third place individually with P-E-M sophomore Madilyn Simon taking second. Austin Pacelli senior Rory Bickler was fourth and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown sophomore Lauran Dimler finished fifth.
