Grace Ping, Cotter, So
As impressive as Wolfgram's resume is, Grace Ping's is equally strong. Last season, the highly anticipated matchup between a healthy Ping and Wolfgram never materialized after injury put an end to Ping's postseason. It's easy to forget that Ping had already defeated Wolfgram twice before the State meet, and was considered by many the favorite to win the Class A title. In fact, other than taking second to Emily Covert at Griak, Ping had gone undefeated until the State meet. Though she didn't run any postseason meets last season, she was the 6th athlete across the line at Nike Cross Nationals in 2016, and 14th the year before. Given her past two All-American finishes, it's not unreasonable to expect Grace Ping to be among the best in the nation, and like Wolfgram, potentially competing for a national title.
