Eleven Class A Girls Who Want To Make History In 2018

Morgan Gehl, Murray County Central-Fulda, So

Throughout all of last school year, Morgan Gehl flew under the radar for many, despite establishing herself as one of the best in not just Class A, but in all of Minnesota. Gehl joins Wolfgram and Grace Ping in the extremely talented class of 2021. The rising sophomore was consistently the next best runner in Class A after the Pings and Wolfgram, taking 4th behind the trio at State in cross country and both distance events in track. Possibly her most impressive performance was the State 3200m in track, in which Gehl snuck under the 11:00 barrier, clocking 10:59.91. Only 11 other girls in Minnesota broke 11:00 last season. And Gehl hardly loses: she won over half of her races last fall, and minus State and the Hamline Elite Meet, went undefeated in distance events in the spring. Gehl is poised to dominate in 2018, and improve from her already strong freshman year.
