Maria Rickman, Edina, Sr
After an off performance at last year's cross country State Meet, Maria Rickman is probably looking to put her name towards the top again. Finishing in tenth as a freshman and 17th as a sophomore she fell to 81st last year as a junior after battling an injury that prevented her from racing for almost two months. But she proved that she shouldn't be forgotten about with a fifth place finish in the 1600m this year, which came after qualifying for State by standard with a personal-best of 4:59.44. Rickman has run at the Nike Cross Nationals meet three consecutive years as a team qualifier which gives her valuable experience against the best runners in the nation. With her team also looking to make it back on top at the State Meet, she is probably all the more eager to make a big impact.
