The voting has concluded and Julia Gherardi and Max Reis have been voted as the Minnesota boys and girls track and field athletes of the year for 2022. Thank you to everyone who voted in the polls for any of the very deserving athletes who were nominated.

Julia Gherardi made history at the state meet, becoming the 5th girl in Minnesota state history to jump 13 feet or higher in the pole vault. She has now won back-to-back state titles in the pole vault out of Class AA. Gherardi finished tied for 44th nationally this season in the pole vault.
Gherardi comes back next year with her sights on the state pole vault record of 13' 11.25" held by Julia Fixsen.
Max Reis was one of this season's biggest surprise runners this season, setting huge new personal best times in the 100m and 200m. Reis won the Class AA state titles in both events.
Reis ran times of 10.41 in the 100m and 21.87 in the 200m. His 100m time ranks 3rd all-time for Minnesota boys and his 200m time ranks just outside the top 100 all-time.
