Ten Class AA Girls Squads With The Biggest Potential

Willmar's team had a fourth-place finish at State last year after two consecutive runner-up finishes. This year, they will look to recapture the success that led them to three straight NXN berths. They return all seven runners, including 11th-place individual finisher Heidi Schmitz. With an experienced trio of seniors (Schmitz, Leah Hansen, and Serena Monson) who've easily run under 19 minutes, and three more chomping at the bit to do the same, Willmar is in a good place to qualify for State and match last year's performance. Whether they can top it will be the question, but as their fifth-place finish at NXN in 2016 proved (of which three members still remain), the Willmar girls should not be counted out.
