Ten Class AA Girls Squads With The Biggest Potential

Another Section 6AA team, Eden Prairie comes into the 2018 season as undoubtedly one of the top ten teams in the State. Led by All-State runner Liesl Paulsen, Eden Prairie has a solid roster of runners who have run at or under 20 minutes in the 5K. They could also potentially have a huge boost from the performance of Ananya Vegesna, who, although not one of their top seven returners by 5K time, clocked the second-fastest time of EP's 2018 returners (behind Paulsen) in the 3200 to run an 11:34 this past track season, and also running 5:23 in the 1600m. Of course, track-to-cross country isn't a perfect translation, but Vegesna's performance bodes well for her team in the coming months. Watch for EP to improve their fourth place Lake Conference and fifth place Section 6AA finishes from 2017.
