Ten Class AA Boys Individuals to Watch Out For in 2018

Nick Scheller, Chanhassen, Jr

Nick Scheller is one of the only non-seniors on this list, and it is deservingly so. After a marvelous 6th place finish at the State Meet (the youngest athlete in the top 20), he put up times in track that show he is skilled well beyond his years. For all sophomores in the United States, his 4:17.92 1600m and 9:13.78 3200m PRs rank 34th and 16th respectively. What's almost as crazy is that he dropped 35 seconds of his two mile best in just one year. It's unlikely that Scheller will slow down anytime soon, as his two teammates Zach Long and Torin Christianson are right on his heels. The sky's the limit for the rising junior, and if everything goes right he could be a serious threat for back-to-back State titles in the coming two years.
