Addison Stansbury, Stillwater, Sr
Addison Stansbury is becoming yet another distance superstar from Stillwater High School. He benefits from the same foundation of training and staff that forged four eventual sub-four-minute milers, and it has been evident in his performances. Stansbury was the seventh-place finisher at last year's State Cross Country meet, and was just a few seconds off of cracking the top five. Stansbury showed flashes of killer speed in track, particularly in his first outdoor race of the year at the Hamline Elite Meet. He took the pace out hard and led wire to wire, running a sizeable personal best. He's also the fourth-fastest returner in the 800m, with an early season PR of 1:55.42. If Stansbury can stay in contact with the leaders at the State Meet this fall, his tremendous kick could end up dictating the champion.
