Ten Class AA Boys Individuals to Watch Out For in 2018

Andrew Brandt, Wayzata, Sr

With 2017 cross country champion Khalid Hussein graduating, the stage is set for Andrew Brandt to take over the reigns of Wayzata distance. Spectators at the Roy Griak Invitational caught a glimpse of the future as Brandt was nearly Wayzata's top finisher, crossing the line just seven-tenths of a second behind Hussein. He finished the year with an All-State performance at the State meet, and is the 11th returner from that race. Brandt gained valuable experience running at the Nike Cross Nationals event for the first time last year, and has a solid opportunity to qualify again this year. On the track, Brandt ran very solid times 4:18.89 and 9:22.10. With a three-peat in the balance for Wayzata cross country titles and one of the best coaches staffs in the nation, Brandt will run very confidently and have an opportunity to place very highly in November.
