Ten Class A Girls Squads Who Believe 2018 Is Their Year

Fairmont

It's hard to gauge how good Fairmont will be this season. They lost three athletes to graduation, more than every other team on this list. The biggest blow of those three was Iliana Ramon, a longtime leader and the top finishing senior at State in 2017. However, they also will have the dynamic duo of Sarah Krumholz and Laura Thompson to anchor their squad. As both athletes were All-State in 2017, they should have no problem repeating that feat this year. Krumholz will be the last member of their 2016 State championship team still at the prep level, and should use that experience to bolster other members of Fairmont's squad. Like many other Class A teams, Fairmont will need someone to step up into the fifth varsity position (and maybe even the fourth one as well). The development of rising sophomores Tabitha Thatcher and Hannah Neusch will determine the ceiling of this team, but regardless, the floor is high enough to place the Fairmont among the best in Class A.
