Ten Class A Girls Squads Who Believe 2018 Is Their Year

Stewartville

After finishing just six points out of the podium last season, the Stewartville girls should very well be a medal threat again in 2018. The one huge difference in this squad is the loss of Abby Orvis, an All-State runner that paired with Kailee Malone to create one of the best 1-2 punches in all of Class A. Kailee Malone will take the reins this season, and after a 13th place finish last year, should contend for the podium. Other than Orvis, the Tigers maintained their entire squad. Laura Pedelty, Isabel Field, and Gracie Waltman are all in the same ballpark around the mid 20s, but a 5th team member within range of that would be huge for Stewartville's podium chances. And perhaps the younger Field (Olivia) can make a jump to close the gap between her and her sister. If the Tigers do find a stronger 5th scorer, they could be the favorites for the third podium spot in November.
