Ten Class A Girls Squads Who Believe 2018 Is Their Year

Top to bottom, Belle Plaine might just have the deepest 1-7 girls squad in all of Class A, as all seven runners have PRs of under 21 minutes, a category only shared by Perham among Class A girls. Led by sophomore Lizzy Schmidt and senior Cassie Stolt, each of their runners from last year will return and try to improve on their 11th-place finish. But again, it is the depth of Belle Plaine's team which is most exciting, and their 57-second spread is one of the best in all of Class A. Of course, Schmidt is really making a name for herself on the track as a sprinter, with fourth-and sixth-place finishes in the 400 the last two season, but she is without a doubt the team's top cross country runner too. And if Stolt or Jordyn Williams can establish themselves as All-State-caliber front runners alongside Schmidt, there's no telling how high this team could finish. If everything breaks right for this team, they might have the best chance at spoiling Perham's shot at a repeat.
