Ten Class A Girls Squads Who Believe 2018 Is Their Year

Annandale

After sneaking into the third and final podium spot last fall, the Annandale girls will again be strong this year. However, repeating that feat will be no simple task, as graduation hit them harder than many of the other top Class A squads. After losing Jessica Scheer and Emily Kasper, Annandale's second-and third-finishers in 2017, the third-place team will have to work hard to replace them. That being said, 2018 is by no means a "rebuilding" year. Emma Fashant proved that she is a podium caliber talent, while Keily Wheeler has an incredible rookie campaign as a 7th grader and has loads of potential. Joslyn Marquette joins Wheeler and Fashant as a solid core of three, while Briana Canesi and Avery Kenning should move up nicely from the sixth and seventh spots to fill the voids left by graduation. Perhaps Annandale's biggest challenge will be getting back to State at all, however, as Section 5A is possibly the toughest in Class A with Maple Lake, Howard Lake, Providence, Rockford, and Mora all with State aspirations. But make no mistake, if Annandale makes it back to State, even with their graduation hit, they can do some damage.
