BOYS TEAM CHAMP: MOUNTAIN LAKE | INDIVIDUAL CHAMP: Maverick Beckmann, Murray Co. Central-Fulda, 17:45.0
RECAP: Maverick Beckmann took the individual Red Rock championship but no one could keep up with Mountain Lake placing their top five in the top ten in winning the league title. ML ran their top five across in 42 seconds and placed all seven athletes in the top 15 scorers. Heron Lake-Okabena junior Paul Salentiny and eighth grader Tim Salentiny ran second and third overall, about 20 seconds back of Beckmann. Mountain Lake was led by fourth place finisher freshman Kaleb Eickhoff while MCC-F senior no. 2 man Lucas Stapek ran fifth overall.
GIRLS TEAM CHAMP: MURRAY CO. CENTRAL-FULDA | INDIVIDUAL CHAMP: Morgan Gehl, Murray County Central-Fulda, 18:04.0
RECAP: The girls race was all about MCC-F junior Morgan Gehl leading her team to a dominant win highlighted by her own very impressive victory, by over two minutes, in 18:04. Second and third place went to MCC-F freshmen Ashley Overgaauw and Amanda Overgaauw. Adrian senior Moriah Bullerman ran to a fourth place finish followed by Southwest Minnesota Christian eighth grader Taylor Post in fifth place. MCC-F put their top six in the top eight team scoring positions with a 20:18 average.
