PREVIEW
Location: Royalton High School
Weather: Mid-40's rain
BOYS
Virtual Meet Projection: Paynesville Area (68), Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted (100), Rush City (115)
Top Individuals: Christopher Borash (Royalton, 16:57), Cedric Lefave (Hinckley-Finlayson, 17:01), Craig Feist (East Central, 17:11), Preston Carlson (Paynesville, 17:14), Jake Andres (Pierz, 17:15)
The Skinny: On the boys' side, this meet is projected to be a little more competitive than on the girls'. Hometown athlete Christopher Borash of Royalton will be looking to take the win, as he comes in to his team's home meet with the fastest time this season and being the only boy who has run under 16 this season. However, right behind him will be Hinckley-Finlayson's Cedric Lefave, whose time of 17:01 sits only a smidgen behind Borash's. And with another pack of guys sitting just outside 17:10, the race to fill out the top five will be a good one as well. In the team battle, HLWW is projected to sneak into second behind Paynesville, while Rush City is projected third despite not having any of their runners in the top ten. (They have 11 and 12 though).
GIRLS
Virtual Meet Projection: Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted (15), Paynesville (92), Pierz (105)
Top Individuals: Erin Brabec (Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, 19:42), Katelyn Routhier (Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, 19:49), Gracie Mallak (Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, 19:50), Gwen Helgeson(Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, 19:52), Brooke Baumann (Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, 20:01)
The Skinny: This race will be the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted show. With the top six individual times coming from HLWW runners, they should nab the individual title and team title with ease. Currently ranked 5th in Class A, this race should function as a nice tune-up for the girls as they prepare for championship season. Individually, any of HLWW's top three could probably take the title, but the top time holder is senior Erin Brabec, who is projected to take the victory with her 19:42. Finishing in the second spot should be Paynesville, hoping that their thirteen point lead is enough to fend off third-projected Pierz.
