Huge Day Of Racing Consists Of Twenty Meets

PREVIEW

Princeton Last Chance (Rescheduled to 10/11)

Location: Princeton Golf Course, Princeton

Weather: 38 and cloudy

Top Individuals: Isaac Basten (Buffalo 15:41), Charlie Babcock (Forest Lake 16:08), Carter Knaus (St. Michael-Albertville 16:18), Max Charlsen (Forest Lake 16:25), Ethan Anderson (Rogers 16:29)

The Skinny: Coming off the heels of a recent meet in Alexandria, Buffalo looks to be the clean favorite at the Princeton Invite on Tuesday, especially with STMA runners absent after running the Swain Invite in Duluth this past weekend. The field will have plenty of sub 17-minute runners, with ninth-ranked Isaac Basten (Buffalo), likely leading the pack. Isaac just ran a 15:49 in Alexandria and has had a very strong season overall. Charlie Babcock (Forest Lake) will be a strong competitor as he recently ran a 16:22 at Swain, as well as placing 7that Milaca with a 16:08 and also a time of 16:32 at Griak. Max Charlsen had a PR at Milaca with a 16:25. Buffalo is likely to clinch at least 2 or 3 of the top 10 runners, with Rogers possibly claiming another 2 or 3 spots. Weather could potentially be a factor on Tuesday, with rain likely most of the day. Rogers has also had a strong season and point totals between 2nd and 3rd could be close.

Top Individuals: Cheresa Bouley (Zimmerman 19:07), Natalie Runquist (Forest Lake 19:13), Regan Duffy (Forest Lake 19:14), Lexi Duscher (Princeton 19:20), Elise Yeager (Monticello 19:22)

The Skinny: With STMA varsity runners expected to be absent from Princeton after their recent impressive showing at the Swain Invite, Forest Lake will likely be the heavy favorite within the field on Tuesday. Monticello and Zimmerman will also be vying for the top team finishes. Cheresa Bouley (Zimmerman) is having a great season as she placed 1st at the Foley Falcon Invite with a PR of 19:07, and will be vying for the top position with Natalie Runquist (Forest Lake). Bouley also placed 4that Griak with an impressive time of 19:09. Natalie started the 2018 CC season off with a PR in the 5K with a time of 19:13. She ran a 19:59 at Griak, and at the Swain Invite, a time of 20:30. Regan Duffy (Forest Lake) will also be running, and likely competing for a top 3 finish. The Top 5 spots will likely boil down to how much energy the runners who ran Swain will have at this event, which could alter the predictions. Forest Lake ran Swain, and Monticello ran at Alexandria last Sat, which could potentially give Zimmerman a slight advantage overall, as they did not run this past weekend.
